Hey, we’re Barney & Jack, two friends on a human re-wilding mission.
Born from a love of nature, travel, and our own healing journeys, Salka is our devotion to sourcing, preparing, and sharing the purest and most potent wild medicines we know how to find. It is the fruit of our travels, teachers, and the traditional knowledge gifted to us along the way, combined with our ongoing pursuit of health and connection.
Our Journey
For more than a decade, we’ve each walked our own paths of healing and learning with traditional teachers and cultures from around the world. Each of us moving through accumulated stress, anxiety, burnout, depression, dissociation, and the quiet sickness that comes from living out of rhythm with the body and the earth. Through it all, we discovered tools, rituals, and plant allies that helped us replenish our vitality and reconnect with the earth and our own instinct.
This project is a reflection of that journey back to ourselves, the earth, and the remedies that supported us along the way.
Our Mission
We believe many of the challenges we face today, in our health, our nervous systems, and our sense of meaning, come from a growing disconnection from nature, from the body, and from our own senses. Modern life pulls us into our heads and away from the rhythms and resources that once kept us regulated, nourished and fully alive.
Our mission is to support a return to the body, the earth, and our own innate wellbeing. We do this by sourcing and sharing the purest wild medicines we can find, and offering them as powerful allies on the path back to wholeness.
Salka is a human re-wilding project.

Our Values
We believe in community, reciprocity with nature, re-wilding, regeneration, and replenishment. We take only what is needed, give back where we can, and honour the lands, cultures, and lineages these gifts come from.
We value living close to the body and the senses, trusting that the body is always showing us the way home and that our role is simply to listen. This is human re-wilding: a return to our instinctive, animal nature and the quiet wisdom that already knows the way.
We also hold the gentle belief that this work - reclaiming connection to the body, the earth, and our own senses - is meaningful not just for ourselves, but for the wider world. In nurturing our own wholeness, we participate in a ripple that touches communities, future generations, and the natural world itself.
Why?
Salka was born because this journey of returning to our bodies, our instincts, and the natural world changed our lives. We’ve felt the strain of disconnection, and we’ve experienced the profound alignment that comes when that connection is gently restored. Our ‘why’ is simple: to support others in remembering what it feels like to be in rhythm with themselves, the earth, and life itself - a return we feel deeply compelled to share.
Thank you for walking with us, and remembering what it means to live closer to the body and the earth. We’re grateful you’re here. It means more than we can easily put into words.
